Not directly in the same hole. Even ground to twelve inches, the remaining root mass decays for years, robs nitrogen as it does, and leaves a void that settles. Plant three to four feet to the side, or grind deep and excavate the chip out and replace with topsoil if the location matters.

Grinding takes the stump and the surface roots radiating from it. It does not chase lateral roots across the yard — those decay in place over several years and are rarely a problem. If you are building over the spot, tell us and we will price full root-plate excavation instead.

We carry general liability and workers' compensation, and we will send the certificate before you book — not after. Texas does not license tree services at state level, which is exactly why the insurance question matters: if an uninsured crew damages your property or injures someone on it, that lands on your homeowner's policy.

We reschedule. Saturated ground means ruts and, more importantly, compromised anchor points and footing — nobody should be aloft in a tree in a North Texas thunderstorm. You get a call, not a no-show.

We plate or mat soft ground before anything heavy crosses it, and we ask you to flag sprinkler heads and low-voltage lighting, which do not show up on a utility locate. Some rutting is possible on saturated ground — if it happens, repairing it is on us.
