Why brush piles become a problem
Most cities in our service area limit what they will collect at the kerb — commonly a few cubic yards, cut to length and bundled. One storm, or one afternoon of fence-line clearing, produces several times that. The pile then sits, and a brush pile against a structure in North Texas is a rodent habitat, a termite bridge and, through August, a genuine fire consideration.
Chipping on site cuts the volume by roughly three quarters, which is usually the cheapest way to deal with a large pile. You can keep the chip as mulch — it is good material, free, and better for beds than anything sold in bags — or it leaves with us.
Check the burn ban before you light anything
County burn bans in this part of Texas come and go with drought conditions and are enforced. Even without a ban, most incorporated cities prohibit open burning of yard waste outright. Check your county's current status and your city ordinance before burning a pile — the fine is considerably more than a haul-off.

How much brush will the city pick up in North Texas?
Kerbside brush collection limits vary by city and most are far smaller than people expect — typically a few cubic yards, cut to length, on a set schedule. Storm debris sometimes gets a temporary special collection. If your pile is larger than a pickup bed, it is usually faster to have it hauled than to wait several cycles.
Can you take fencing and old lumber with the brush?
Clean brush and treated lumber go to different places, so mixed loads cost more and we need to know in advance. Tell us what is in the pile when you call and we will price it properly rather than adjusting on the day.
Can you work near power lines?
Up to a point. Anything in contact with a service drop or a primary conductor is the utility's to clear first — we do not cut energised lines and neither should anyone who is not a qualified line-clearance crew. We handle everything outside those clearances.
How long does the work usually take in North Texas?
Most residential jobs are a single day. A straightforward trim on one or two trees is a half day; a large removal that has to be rigged over a house can run two. We give you a realistic window in the written estimate rather than a hopeful one.
Do you offer discounts for multiple trees?
Effectively yes — the second tree on the same visit costs less than it would on its own because setup, travel and haul-off are already covered. If you have several trees needing attention, get them all quoted at once rather than one at a time.
What payment methods do you take?
All standard forms — card, check, cash and bank transfer. On larger jobs a deposit is normal with the balance due on completion, after you have seen the finished work. We do not ask for payment in full before starting.
Are you licensed and insured to work in North Texas?
We carry general liability and workers' compensation, and we will send the certificate before you book — not after. Texas does not license tree services at state level, which is exactly why the insurance question matters: if an uninsured crew damages your property or injures someone on it, that lands on your homeowner's policy.
Is there a minimum charge?
There is a practical minimum because getting a crew and equipment to North Texas costs the same whether the job takes one hour or four. If you have several small jobs, bundling them into one visit is much better value.
