What land clearing costs comes down to
Clearing is priced by acre, but the acre is the least useful number. What actually drives the cost is stem density (scattered mesquite versus solid cedar), terrain and slope, how much material has to leave the property rather than be mulched in place, and whether you need the root mat out or just the top growth off.
Mulching in place with a forestry cutter is by a wide margin the cheapest finish and leaves a mulch layer that suppresses regrowth and holds soil. Grubbing roots out and hauling everything off costs several times more, and is only worth it when something is going to be built on the ground.
Do not clear-cut what you will want back
The most common regret we hear is clearing a lot flat and then paying to replant shade fifteen years later. Selective clearing — taking the scrub and the junk stems, keeping the specimen trees and the ones shading the future homesite — costs a little more per acre and is worth far more. We will walk it with you and flag what is worth keeping before anything starts.

How soon can you come out?
Estimates are usually within a couple of business days across all five counties. Hazard situations move to the front of the queue.
Are you insured?
General liability and workers' compensation, with the certificate sent before you book. Texas does not license tree services at state level, so this is the question that actually filters a bid list.

How much does land clearing cost per acre near North Texas?
For light underbrush and scattered trees, budget roughly $1,500–$3,000 per acre mulched in place. Dense cedar or heavy timber with haul-off runs $4,000–$6,000+ per acre. Steep, wet or hard-to-access ground pushes it higher. We quote per job after walking it, because per-acre averages are close to meaningless until someone has seen the stems.
Do I need a permit to clear land in your county?
Outside city limits in your county, clearing your own agricultural or residential acreage generally does not require a permit, though burn bans and county burn permits apply to disposal. Inside city limits, or on platted land, tree ordinances and land-disturbance rules often do apply. We check before we start.
Do I need to be home while you work?
No, as long as we have access and have already walked the job with you. Plenty of North Texas customers are at work while we are there. We will call before we start and send photos when we finish.
Can you work around my schedule?
Usually. Most residential work happens on weekdays during business hours, but we can often arrange early starts or a specific day if access, pets or gates require it. Commercial properties routinely get after-hours or weekend scheduling.
Are you licensed and insured to work in North Texas?
We carry general liability and workers' compensation, and we will send the certificate before you book — not after. Texas does not license tree services at state level, which is exactly why the insurance question matters: if an uninsured crew damages your property or injures someone on it, that lands on your homeowner's policy.
Can you work near power lines?
Up to a point. Anything in contact with a service drop or a primary conductor is the utility's to clear first — we do not cut energised lines and neither should anyone who is not a qualified line-clearance crew. We handle everything outside those clearances.
What happens if it rains on my scheduled day?
We reschedule. Saturated ground means ruts and, more importantly, compromised anchor points and footing — nobody should be aloft in a tree in a North Texas thunderstorm. You get a call, not a no-show.
Do you clean up afterwards?
Completely. Brush chipped and hauled, wood removed or stacked as you prefer, ground raked and blown off. We walk the site with you before we leave. Clean-up is included in the quoted price — it is not a line item that appears later.
